5-Hour Yin YOGA Training Immersion

Join Sam Wilensky x The Well Studio x Anthony Chavez for a 5 hour online yin training immersion on Sunday, May 4th from 11:30AM - 4:30PM EST.

This is open to existing yoga teachers and all curious yogis looking to deepen their relationship to the ceremonial practice of Yin Yoga. In this training immersion, Yin Yoga teacher, Sam Wilensky will guide you through mastering the technical and metapysical aspects of teaching a yin class.

Students will learn the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) fundamentals including meridians, Five Element Theory, and how they integrate with Yin practice.

You'll also gain practical skills for designing balanced Yin sequences that work with specific meridians and energy channels & explore the interplay between Chakra theory, Buddhist philosophy with Yin practice.

Students will leave this session with a clear vision of their intentions for teaching a yin class and practical sequencing techniques to offer yin classes to their communities.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN IN THIS IMMERSION:

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of Yin Yoga's origins and foundational philosophy

  • Master the key principles of fascia and the myofascial network and how Yin poses specifically target connective tissue

  • Learn the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) fundamentals including meridians, Five Element Theory, and how they integrate with Yin practice

  • Explore the interplay between Chakra theory, Buddhist philosophy with Yin practice

  • Gain practical skills for designing balanced Yin sequences that work with specific meridians and energy channels

  • Understand the important distinctions between Yin and Restorative yoga approaches

  • Acquire trauma-informed teaching techniques with emphasis on appropriate verbal cues and creating safe practice spaces

  • Develop expertise in effective prop usage and pose modifications to make classes accessible for all body types

  • Learn the art of guiding students through appropriate edge-finding in poses for optimal tissue release

  • Master technical aspects of class atmosphere including music selection and silence balance

  • Receive concrete tools and templates for structuring complete Yin classes

Sam Wilensky (she/her) is a Brooklyn-based sound artist, poetry and dance enthusiast, and dedicated teacher of yin yoga, yoga nidrā and Buddhist meditation.After a decade in corporate fashion, Sam spent years exploring various spiritual paths searching for deeper meaning. In 2019, a chance encounter led her to meet a Buddhist teacher—a pivotal moment that ignited her teaching and creative expression and became the unifying force behind all that she shares.Sam embraces the qualities of yin yoga as an all-day-long practice—a way of being that honors receptivity, patience, and the wisdom of ease. She weaves contemplative traditions with somatic awareness, prompting the discovery of all that's available when we release effort and yield to what is. Her teaching invites an artful exploration of the body, breath and mind, and an opportunity to soften beyond even the most stubborn habits of tension.

In her yin yoga classes, Sam creates a container for deep, sustained listening, inviting practitioners to navigate their internal landscapes with utmost curiosity and compassion.
