Akasha Yoga Life Retreat:: Multi-Discipline Training in Costa Rica

Akasha Yoga Life is bringing a full array of different training disciplines together combined with yoga to show how they can compliment and elevate each other. The power of yoga reaches far beyond what you do with your body on a mat, and it can be used to improve your performance in so many aspects of your life. If you regularly train in another discipline, you’ll find that introducing yoga principles into your regime will improve focus, flexibility and mental agility. Similarly, if you solely practice yoga and like to follow a set sequence, you can discover the benefits of venturing off the mat in increasing your strength and adaptability.

Led by Samantha Wilensky, Amy Patsalides, Leo Oppenheim, and Skoti Pepper.

FLOW:: The Un-blocking Lab

FLOW is a 2-hour workshop with Sam Wilensky and Rafaela Sanchez (founder of Women’s Poetry Workshop) designed around striking the balance between strong and soft for a major creative, energetic and metaphorical unblocking.

During this workshop, Sam will lead the group through a series of yoga and breathing exercises, working through the sacral and throat chakras to make room for feminine energy and power to pour out. With all that wide-open space for creative expression, Raf will help you dive into a 20-minute free-form writing session -- no rules, no confines, just writing. Make a little room for some magic, babies, and see what happens. Sign up, sign your friend up and bring a notebook and a pen! Click to sign up.

Tickets // 30 bucks

About Raf/Women’s Poetry Workshop:

The Women's Poetry Workshop is a community of poets who gather monthly to share their work and collaboratively provide feedback-simple as that. Founded by women, the Workshop seeks to foster a safe environment for women, queer, non-binary individuals and allies. Our mission is to always provide a free and accessible space to call home; to be a resource for all things poetry; to be a team, supporting our members in all of their endeavors; to live out poetry in our real lives, every single day.

Expansive Yoga Rooftop Series

Wednesdays / 6:45-9:15pm / August 1 - September 19

Join me for a social, community-based, 8-week series of yoga-by-donation and conscious conversation at the Lightning Society Lofts Rooftop. Each week a new idea will be presented through movement in a 1-hour yoga practice, followed by 1 hour of conscious community conversation around the application of this topic in our day-to-day lives.

Yoga classes will cater to all levels. Some mats will be available on a first come, first served basis. If you are able to bring your own, please do so! Everyone is encouraged to participate in our group discussions but there is absolutely no pressure to do so. All we ask is that you come with an open mind and a willingness to explore!
--
This series is themed around the energies of the season.

In summer the energy is big, playful, happy, full of passion and potential. In the first four weeks of our series, our events will focus on expansion into our fullest expression of power.

As we move into late summer, our energy requires more grounding as a means to transition into the contractive energy of Fall. In the second four weeks of our series, the focus of our events shifts toward grounding, stability, and support.
